Here you have the ‘RollerDerbyGirl – Production-Ready 3d Model’!. A high-quality 3d character with multiple accessories and highly detailed production-quality parts, fully UVed, ready for you to jump into texturing!.
High-quality 3d character model with highly detailed production-quality parts, neutralized with a production-quality clean topology on body and parts, production quality UVs on all the elements and a set of 10 main facial shapes.
In case you want the model to practice your skills as a rigger, here you have a neutralized model with a production-quality clean topology. The model comes in a T-Pose with straightened limbs, hands, and fingers to avoid any rigging headache. It also includes a set of 10 main facial shapes and multiple accessories to experiment with your technical skills. The head shapes are detached from the body in case you desire to rig the face separately from the body.
Finally, if you’re a modeler, you can use this model to explore a production-ready character. Also, you can even use its full-body base mesh for your own personal non-commercial modeling projects.
Included on the file you will find: a neutralized model with a production-quality clean topology on body and parts, production quality UVs on all the elements and a set of 10 main facial shapes. Please, take a look at the images below to check the model quality before you buy it.
‘RollerDerbyGirl – Production-Ready 3D Model’ is the second asset available on my Gumroad store, and continues my focus on sharing examples of quality assets ready for production as I did before with my the 3DHeadModel from my ‘3D Facial Modeling Timelapse’.
The RollerDerbyGirl – Production-Ready 3D Model is available in 4 different formats .ma .blend .fbx and .ztl for your convenience. Compatible with Autodesk Maya, Blender or Pixologic zBrush.
Have fun with the model and don’t forget to tag me when you showcase your modeling, look or rigging work done over this asset. Cheers!

The .ztl file only seems to be compatible with zBrush 2020
Hi Chris,
Thank you for letting me know. I’m gonna try to fix it in order to make it available for earlier versions of zBrush. Meanwhile, as a workaround you can import the .FBX file into your zBrush file, and you will get all the subtools without any problem. Please let me know if you have any issues with this.
Thanks,
Sergi
Hi, if I purchase the model can I use it for a rigging demo reel?
Hi Jaime,
of course, you can! That is one of the main goals of this model. I know how hard is to have access to premium quality models ready for production. Even when I was working as a rigger, some times it wasn’t easy to receive a clean model, so a lot of times I had to tweaked myself in order to have a nice canvas from where to create my rig. So with this model, as a character modeler and rigger, I’m confident about the quality I’m putting out there for you guys. So get the model, enjoy rigging it, and don’t forget to tag me in order to enjoy what others are doing with my model!
Have fun,
Sergi
Hi,
I’m trying to improve myself in face modeling and rigging, are you selling some kind of tutorials ? I really like your work and most of all, your rigs !!:)
Hi Katia,
Thank you for your trust and support! Stay tuned to my Gumroad store because I’m gonna start selling tutorials soon.
Thank you,
Sergi
Hi Sergi,
When i try to open it in Maya 2020 i get this Warnings + Error:

Hi Adri,
I’m not sure about the warnings you’re getting. I just loaded the file and I’m not getting any warning, plus nobody else reported any issue with the file. I would suggest you restart your Maya preferences to default: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Reset-Maya-to-Default.html?_ga=2.112579527.2116529603.1587965798-1294261682.1587965798
Good luck and thank you,
Sergi
Hi Adri, I’m seeing ai prefixes on those node types. It could be that your arnold(mtoa) plugin is not loaded. It shouldn’t cause an issue to the model itself. Cheers!
Hi,
I’m trying to improve myself in character modeling and rigging, Please can you tell me how many days it will be start selling your tutorials?
Hi Sergi,
I just bought this model today and I am loving every single aspect of this high quality production model! As a college student currently studying Rigging, topology is extremely crucial to my dogma: just playing with some deformation tests with this model has blown me away! Just curious but, would you say that this would be an ideal form of topology for riggers who work with any set of human characters or do non-cartoon characters have a different approach to topology?
Regardless, thank you for making my day more brighter and knowledgeable with this amazing model! I look forward to keep supporting you in the future by purchasing more of your products that you post up!
Thank you!
Stephen
Hi Sergi,
I love the model and appreciate you sharing it with us! I had a question regarding your file organization, and in particular, regarding your naming conventions. I’ve consistently ended assets with R (right) or L (left), i.e., grp_foot_R; however, I can see you end with RMM or LMM. What does the MM stand for, and is this naming convention specific to what Disney requires?
Shaun
Hi Shaun,
Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate it. The RollerDerby uses a naming convention I used for a while where the %%% format refers to:
X axis where it can be: L (left), M (middle) or R (right)
Y axis where it can be: T (top), M (middle) or D (down)
Z axis where it can be: F (front), M (middle) or B (back)
So using this system, front left wheel of a car would be named geo_wheel_LMF, and in the case of a bike, the front wheel would be named geo_wheel_MMF
.
Sergi
Hi Sergi,
is the there a version of the model where I have SubD Lvl zero?
I would love to analyze your topoflow. Love the timelapses, but unfortunately I can t get enough info out of it.
A Maya files + Undo would be great…even if it s impossible to save them along. 😀
Thanks!
Wondering how I could use this to pose and then create something like an STL file for resin printing. Anyone know of tutorials or workflow for that? This is a great model!
